Ep.69_The Power Of Starting Something Stupid_Richie Norton
Happy Holidays!!!
In today's episode, I share my two favorite insights from 'The Power of Starting Something Stupid' by Richie Norton.
Use an app to launch some birds at pigs. That looks incredibly foolish. But in 2011, the Angry Birds developers made $106 million in profit. Walt Disney reportedly lost his job as a newspaper employee because he lacked imagination. After just one performance, Elvis Presley was asked to leave the Grand Ole Opry, claiming he was "going nowhere." According to experts, no one would ever listen to music stored on digital files, and international video chats would never be possible. All of these concepts were first seen as being silly, but as we have shown, sometimes the stupidest ideas are the finest.
I loved this book and would highly recommend it. There is no time like the present to bring your stupid idea to life. In fact, stupid ideas are the new smart in 2023.
